Brooke Pryor of the Kansas City Star tweeted out a photo of Richardson Wednesday afternoon.
After the Vikings waived/injured Richardson in October, he caught on with the Detroit Lions’ practice squad but was released 15 days later on November 21. The Chiefs decided to scoop him up on Wednesday.
Over the course of his four-year career (2013-16) at SMU, Richardson compiled 86 tackles (74 solo, 10 interceptions, 14 passes defensed and two touchdowns). Richardson is originally from Everman, Texas.
Joining Leon McQuay and D’Montre Wade, Richardson makes three defensive backs currently on the Chiefs’ practice squad. Richardson has yet to make it on to a 53-man roster.
