The Los Angeles Lakers announced their long-rumored City Edition jerseys on Thursday with the young core of Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma and Josh Hart modeling the new look.
Each of the four players was featured in the new look with Ball repping the pinstripe uni in a series of pictures that also showed off his full sleeve on his right arm.
These jerseys have long been rumored for the Lakers for the better part of a month, dating back to a leak in early October. After fans mocked up different potential designs based on the leak, the full jerseys leaked.
The reviews for the jerseys have been mixed at best. While the inspiration behind them jerseys is a great one in honoring Magic Johnson and the Showtime Era, the execution leaves much to be desired.
The purple with black letters, though, is hard enough to read even with the yellow shadow. The pinstripes, while typically a good design choice, does not work here with the color choices.
